URBAN HYMNS!

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/urban-hymnes/id503919625
Hello world, and welcome to my blog. I am Dwayne Jenkins, CEO of Phazon Music Group, a gospel rap label out of NewBritain Ct and I am Co-Publisher of an awesome album that has been released to Itunes not long ago called URBAN HYMNS! Now the artist is Jeremiah the Prophet, aka Todd Jackson from the Redlands CA.Our Target market here is youth from ages 12-18 & young adults 19-26.I feel compelled to tell you about this album because this work ministers to me in a way that is in describable. My children love his cool metaphors and his battle rap style of flow that is laid over hardcore beats. This young man is self written and self produced right from his living room, and the cd cover depicts 5 different facets of jeremy holding different instruments to display how he is a one man band! His lead single "The devil is a lie" is a mixture of what you may think Nas and Jay-z may have blended together but on the christian side...now can you picture that? Jeremiah used to be a battle rapper, who by the way won countless battles in L.A. before turning his life over to Christ, but he turned all that into a positive energy and started to rap for the youth when he seen where rap was heading. He has music on the album for a little of everyone, some noteworthy songs are Hell, Doors of the church, God is Good, Man of God, show me, God got love 4 u, and the list goes on... not being modest but all the tracks are hotter than July and if you follow the link to itunes at the beginning of this paragraph, you can preview before you buy, so you won't be disappointed, I also added the cd cover for you just so you can have an birds eye view of what I am trying to show you.I will also be back periodically with more HHH Flavor to write about from somewhere in the U.S ... or abroad! Respectfully, Dwayne Jenkins.    I have a question for all of you also,Do you feel that holy hip hop is influential in our children and young adults lives today??? Please feel free to answer through our comment box, and we will take up this subject in another post!

  1. This is such a very needed blog. In this time a lot of people who grew up loving rap music and don't enjoy the traditional gospel music and automatically think that they do not fit into the kingdom. Even though this is not my first choice of music I definitely respect a talented true holy rap artist because they are reaching everyone outside of the four walls of the church and drawing them in which is what we were put on this earth to do. Spread the good news about our savior regardless of denominations. I will definitely keep up with your blog and pass it on to my lovers of rap.

    1. Thank you Joselyn, I will definitely try to keep fresh material and also keep it engaging. I really do need all the help that I can get with this and may God bless you tri-fold for all you do for the kingdom.

  2. Its great that young people are able to express themselves via gospel rap. Gospel rap is a positive way for praise and spreading a simple message of hope and love, without feeling as if religious message is being force on you. My daughter creates beats, and I like knowing theres an alternative to producing secular music, gospel rap artists need to be promoted - as this is going to be the next phase of gospel music, which will reach the younger audience that might not have given gospel music a chance.

    1. Amen, to that Mz Gibson, and thank you for voicing your opinion, I didn't realize the power of blogs until I done this project, now it's not just a project, it's a very special part of me. When I was growing up, I had music that was meaningful and wholesome, and it became a large part of me, our children need the same type of chance and holy hip hop gives it to them. Being a music publisher I feel I owe it to my lord and savior to make music to help draw our youth or anyone closer to his kingdom and not poison their mind.

  3. This is a cool and great blog about your artist Jeremiah The Prophet. I love music myself and I started of in Full Sail as a recording art student. I respect his grind and your grind as a music listener and music producer myself. I do feel that our society is missing the gospel aspect and is interrogated into urban hip-hop but what’s not better to do then combine the two for some great music. Thanks for trying to bridge the gap between the youth and hip-hop music.

  4. WOW Dwayne!! This is revolutionary!!
I work with an Urban Rap Label and I don't know that any of my clients can or would put their faith on their shoulders. Yea I get the occasional: God this, The Lord that, Allah over there or whatever, but nothing so deep as to lay it all out on the line.
How did you decide to dive into this hemisphere of the industry?

    1. Well Mz, Kennedy, I am first a true man of God and I do love music second, when I was beginning and opening shows for Ludacrist, and Capone and Nore with my secular artists, it was ok, but I didn't get the same satisfaction out of it that I do doing it for my one true God, and we all know that our kids need this!!!!! I would not trade this for anything, it is truly my passion.

  5. I do believe that Holy Hip Hop can be influential to our children and young adults but the way today’s society is most if not all young adults are caught up in the materialistic lifestyle. Having the nice cars, all the girls/guys, big jewelry, big house and large bank account is more important to people in our society then passing a positive message through society and to our children.

    1. Wallz, you are right, and that is why Phazon Music Group / Diamond Status Publishing exists to bridge the gap between the way society has our children and young adults believe. They need to know that it's all about being a leader and not a follower. Thanks ever so much for commenting and please stay up with us, peace to you,Respectfully Dwayne Jenkins.

  6. Mr Jenkins, I would whole heartedly like to congratulate you for having a vision & going for what you believe in...we hear lots of "R n B" in todays gospel music but not much "Holy Hip-Hop"...its a wonderful way of teaching people especially our youth, to enjoy the essence of good music & incorporate the word of GOD!!!..May GOD continue to bless you on this journey & may you along with this project serve its purpose...best of luck..:)

  7. Thank you anonymous for the reply, I am a man of persistence and I believe that hard work will always pay off. Our youth deserve the chance to entertain music that can give knowledge as well as rhythm and great beats. I will push all of my projects until they fulfill their desired purpose, respectfully Dwayne Jenkins.
